What you can look forward to in 7th grade...

Get ready to explore the ancient Egyptians (pyramids of Giza to the left), to the Great Wall of China (bottom left), to the development of Europe (a coliseum to the top left)!  Doesn't the coliseum look vaguely like our sports stadiums today?

Coliseums - ancient sports stadiums?

7th Grade Social Studies

The information below allows students and parents to see what the school year will look like in Mrs. Hancock's class.  There are also feeds to current events below.  All of the units we are studying are included under the "7th grade Social Studies" tab.  Check out the unit we are studying to keep track of homework, re-watch any videos on content you missed in class, or work on projects.  The "Student Resources" page also has great sites for students to use for research or to learn more about Social Studies.  Learning never ends.

Delta County 7th Grade Social Studies Pacing Guide

Below is the 7th grade pacing guide for Social Studies, which outlines a general idea of what students will be learning, and when.

Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Concept Map

This map highlights on what CDE believes are the most important concepts, skills, and content to be taught in 7th grade Social Studies.  Our Delta County curriculum is aligned with these concepts.
