Assessment: Making it meaningful for students - This book is helping me improve my formative and summative assessments, so that I can make sure students are getting the most out of their learning. Teach Like a Champion by Doug Lemov - an inspiring read for teachers that provides many ideas about classroom management and instruction to move you from good to a consistent, master teacher. Making History Mine: Meaningful Connections for Grades 5-9 by Sarah Cooper - the chapters in this book are divided into applicable strategies for the Social Studies teacher, such as "The Role of the Individual: Assessing Who Makes History" and "Current Events: Connecting Past to Present". My favorite part about this book is it is packed with exemplars and resources!
